Row Counter Starter Set - Fairy Lights

I really love using these little row counters. So much easier to use than the manual variety. I don't forget to turn the dial or click the button!

I just love these row counters. I have looked at others, but I think yours are absolutely the best. I am a rather new knitter, so I have trouble reading my stitches and the row counter takes the guess work away.

These are super cute & such a great idea....but the first set i used had a melody clip that had too big an opening. I tried to bend it to close further but to no avail. The melody clip is long since lost & i have resorted to using a simple lobster clip from my jewelry making supplies. The xl size set i am currently using has the opposite problem: the opening on the melody clip is so small & snug that you really have to use a little force to get it on the correct chain. That's when i realized how thin and flimsy this thing is. It is nearly impossible to get the melody clip on without bending the part of the chain you are hooking it to. These are so pretty....but not worth the money.

When the Twice Sheared Sheep Row Counter first showed up in my Instagram ads, I thought it was genius, but questioned whether I really “needed” to add such a tool to my knitting arsenal. I tend to subscribe to the minimalist idea of knitting in particular and crafting in general. I had learned that this approach led to fewer flash-in-the-pan tools sitting in the bottom of the bag shaming me for their purchase, and more money to spend on the good yarn.

But as I progressed further into a project that called for decreasing stitches every 9th row 17 times, and my well worn sticky note kept falling off my paper, and I kept questioning if I had remembered to make a tick mark after each row, I finally gave in to social media ad pressure and purchased the Fairy Lights Row Counter Starter Set.

Game changing is an understatement. Life changing is more like it. This is a tool that was clearly developed by someone who has felt the pain of trying 18 different ways of keeping track of rows and repeats. I have now had the chance to use it on multiple projects—some in the round, some flat—and it works fabulously no matter what I throw at it. I’m so glad I splurged on the kit with four different sizes, so that I don’t have to choose which of my current WIPs I’ll use it with.

Just found these, have to say, they work great! I keep up with my rows, it is like an abacus for knitting. I have not tried this with my crochet yet. Major improvement over click counters.

I love these row counters. I had to get a set for my daughter.
