Cord Quill I-cord Tool

The Cord Quill is well made and sturdy. It’s easy to use, and very simply, it just plain WORKS. It does what it’s meant to do and it does it well. I can turn out feet of beaded I-cord in minutes when it would’ve taken hours to do with DPNs. Def recommend.

I have to admit, I was skeptical of this 'unnecessary' tool before I tried it, but it actually makes making i-cord fun. And i-cord can be used for so many things I avoided before (good bye shoelaces for drawstrings I avoided making)! I will say it's not intuitive to get started at first - watch their super helpful videos on this - but once you figure the start out, it's fantastic. 10 out of 10.

This tool sped up I-cord making unbelievably! It took maybe 10 to 15 minutes to figure it out and get a good rhythm going. Another half hour of practice to make a really pretty I-cord. And now one baby blanket is done and packaged beautifully! I love this tool!

Is there a video demonstrating an I cord cast on using the tool?
The cowl I'm starting uses and I cord cast on. I'm using Stitch Saver (AKA barber cord, silicone tubing) between the first & second hook so every time I wrap the yarn the Stitch saver "picks up" a stitch for me. To begin knitting, I slide my needle through with the stitch saver.

I am new to this but excited to learn. Just purchased it!

The Cord Quill is super cool! Way easier to make an I-cord with it than with needles or a crochet hook. Took some practice but so worth it!

I just received it a few days ago. It creates an I-cord by itself really quickly and cleanly. I’m sure I will get better and faster with practice. I haven’t had a chance yet to use it at the end of my row as I am knitting which is what I actually purchased it for, but I am hopeful it will mean neater borders for my cowls and ends of sleeves on tees, etc…

I thought I would go insane trying to learn to use it - but after 5 minutes got the hang of it and LOVE it!. I need to make two 60 inch cords for my Whidbey bag and in the time it would take to knit that I could knit a large part of the Pelica Vest I am working on. Well worth the expense of the tool. Thank you TSS for always having such great tools and notions.

I made 80 inches of icons in literally 10 percent of the time it would have taken me to knit it!! And it LOOKS perfect and even!

This i-cord maker is so pretty and comfortable to hold! It was a little awkward at first, but now I can really cook on it while watching TV. Hints: pay attention to the latches and go easy on the tension.

Took a little practice but once I finally got the hang of it this tool made great cords.

Made quick work of my icord straps for a summer top. Looking forward to using to add i-cord edge to future project. Well made with quality materials.

This tool makes beautiful i-cord. I had previously tried a little machine to make i-cord, but it just kept eating my yarn. There was a short learning curve with this tool, but as soon as I got it, it was super fast to make the long cord I needed for my little phone pouch. Highly recommend!

I just tried my new Cord Quill for the first time yesterday and I’m so happy! It took me a minute to get the hang of it but once I got going it was great! Took hours of time off what it took me to make a cord for a bag the last time. Super pleased.😃

Absolutely love this tool! Not only faster, but stitches have no ladders!

This little tool is definitely faster for making i-cord than DPNs or crank machines, at least for me. The only issue I have is that the middle hook on mine isn't aligned with the outer two, so it takes some extra effort to get the yarn over it.

Cant figure out how to use it

Got my cord quill. Looked up instructions and no sound. Kind of hard to learn. The tool is really not of use till I can hear. I sent a message to the support and no response.

The tool took me a little bit to get the hang of, but I watched the videos and practiced until I got the mechanics of it down. Pretty nifty and quite quick. I’m excited to make some fun things with it.

I'm a 75 yr old knitter/crocheter with some hand arthritis and thought this might be a good addition to my tools. The learning curve was a few days, but once I 'got it', I was off and running, working up some long icords for a planned cat rug. Very pleased with this item!

This is a well made tool. I have been knitting i-cord for years and this is so much faster. There is a learning curve. It is comfortable in the hand. It is expensive, but less expensive ones look flimsy. I would recommend this.

This took several tries to get it figured out. The videos were not very clear, especially for contextual style knitting but I watched them all, tried many times and figured it out. Once I got the idea, it was quick and easy and made a very uniform I chord. So it was worth the purchase price!

There is no volume on the video, with them all together on one screen, I can't isolate one and enlarge it to see how to actually use the the thing. I sent an email, posted on the FB page requesting help or written instructions and my requests have been ignored. Extremely disgusted with the customer service. Will be letting all of my fiber groups know not to use you for anything. How do I return this item?

This worked great for a large icord bindoff! The wooden handle is comfortable and a nice size for my smaller adult hands.

My first one failed (bought through a local store) and the warranty replacement was sent quickly and without hassle. It arrived with an acceptable time given the distance and border
