This is an ingenious idea. A multi-tool that features a needle/hook sizer on top. Then swing that aside to reveal the next layer which has a wraps per inch section and then a yarn cutter. Open the second layer and it will reveal a small compartment that could house stitch markers. It comes with a repair tool and tapestry needle. Finally on the outside is the end tab of a retractable measuring tape. Oh one more thing, it has a triangle of metal at the top for attaching to something, like a lobster clasp that is attached to a bag.

My experience with the tool:
1. Yes it's a little stiff opening the sections. I suppose a plastic version would fix that but would we really want more plastic in our world? There's too much already. I'd rather have natural wood that takes a bit of effort to open than plastic that easily opens.
2. There are magnetic dots set into the top of the bottom layer and bottom of the second layer so that they fit nicely. Unfortunately the metal tapestry needle keeps sticking to them when I try to put it into the cavity for storage. A minor annoyance.
3. Despite the above I now have this tool on my side table where I knit/crochet. I have used it many times now and I think the stiffness of movement is getting less with time and usage. I just wish there was something that could be done with the big section of the second layer, the one with the magnets underneath. It seems like a waste as it's only reason is to fill out the shape of the multi-tool so that it doesn't have a gap in the side.

The benefits outweigh the minor difficulties in my experience and I hope more people will give this tool a tr.

I love the idea of this tool, but mine broke before I could get it completely open

So, I wasn't terribly impressed because I didn't realize all that this handy dandy tool had going for it. Now, it is the 8th of January and I have discovered that it has replace the little bag that I had some of these things in (needle, stitch markers, scissors) and I don't have to have a separate tote thing for my tape measure, gauge (needle and knitting). Ha! who knew? I do think it is one of those things that once you start using it, you will be pleased and I am sure it is something that you can easily take on planes.
