THE BASE DOODLE MITTENS are an awesome canvas for your design – the simple shape can be used as-is, but it is also a great backdrop for showcasing beautiful yarn, stacking your favorite Doodle colorwork charts together, or even just featuring your one favorite chart! Make the cuff longer or shorter, add texture, customize however you like. The options are endless!

Base Doodle Patterns are the first step in the Doodle Framework! Choose any Base Doodle Pattern, choose charts from any Doodle Deck, choose your yarns, and start knitting!
This pattern is worked in the round from the bottom up, beginning with a cuff. Then the design-your-own stranded colorwork is worked to the base of the thumb, placing waste yarn for afterthought thumb, finishing colorwork and closing the mitten top. Thumb is then picked up and knit to desired height.
SIZES
Approx. 4, 6, (8, 10) in [10, 15 (20, 25) cm] circumference.
Approx. 3-4, 6-7 (8-9, 9-10) in [7.5-10, 15-18 (20-23, 23-25) cm] height.
YARN
Any DK, light worsted, or sport weight yarn that meets gauge. Doodles are designed to use leftover yarn, yarn advents, or any other small batches of colorways in your stash. Yarn shown is a suggestion from the Designer. Alternative yarns are encouraged.
Sample uses 85% Superwash Merino and 15% Nylon DK by Yarnaceous Fibers, 100g 246 yards [225 m.]
Yardage listed in total yards per size in colorwork due to the customizable nature of this pattern.

US 5/3.75 mm or size needed to obtain gauge
One size smaller needle for ribbing (optional)
16 in [40 cm] circular needles + Magic Loop or DPNs for crown decreases

What are your shipping methods and times?
All packages are shipped from our hands to yours from our studio here in lovely Pocatello, Idaho, USA.
All packages typically ship within 1-3 business days through USPS first class mail.
Free shipping and Standard First Class packages typically take 5-7 business days to arrive in your hot little hands, but may be subject to seasonal or other delays from our lovely post office people.
This means that your package will arrive in a happy white bubble envelope in your regular mail box. 😊
Advent Boxes
Advent Boxes will begin shipping out the first week of November using UPS Ground shipping unless otherwise requested.
We want to make sure your box makes it safely into your hands, so if you need it delivered earlier or later, CLICKY HERE to contact us and let us know!
How are returns & exchanges handled?
We understand that sometimes you just don’t love things as much as you thought you would and are happy to accept returns or exchanges of merchandise within 30 days of your purchase, providing that your item is in its original, resalable condition.
If more than 30 days have passed since your purchase, or the item has been damaged for any reason OTHER than due to our error, we’re very sorry, but we can’t accept the return.
Please CLICKY HERE and send us a message that you would like to return your item BEFORE shipping it off to us so that we can watch for it’s safe return. Once it makes it’s way back to us we will be happy to send your exchange item, or issue a refund.
