… but I finally got the chance to use an extension cord! I am in the process of knitting a sweater for my daughter and I wanted her to approve the length before I did the final ribbing (we all know how that could go very wrong, right? ;) The cord made it so easy! I didn’t have to take the piece off the needles and put it on scrap yarn to make it fit over her head. It took just a minute to double check and now I’m off and running again! Wish me luck as I head into the sleeve desert…
They definitely serve their purpose, but I couldn't get the strong plastic smell off with overnight soaks in dish soap, vinegar, or baking soda :/
I'll still use them as the smell doesn't stick to the project after blocking, but it is unfortunate that the closet where I keep the box of stitch holders now smells like plastic
The quality of Dawn’s products is great! I had to wait for my knitting gauge cards (made to order) but they are lovely, heavyweight, plastic and will last s long time. She stocks the most useful knitting accessories!
I am rating this product based purely on the way it smelled when I opened the tin, which was not only unpleasant but also concerning. The product webpage says they're made of silicone but the responses to people's comments say PVC, which is bad news. Google search says: "Soft PVC often contains plasticizers like phthalates that can slowly transfer to skin upon prolonged contact." It's basically out-gassing something. I know you'll accept a return, which is great, but I just wish it weren't so because I need a product like this! If you have a tech sheet on the materials, I'd be interested in seeing it. Thanks!

We have found that the PVC tubing can have a slight chemical smell but for some reason that particular scent hits some people MUCH harder than others 😔
We've found the best option to handle any remaining smell is simply to wash with soap and hot water and let them dry and air out outside for a couple of days.
You can soak in a basin with hot water and dish soap, or throw them in with your laundry and let them run through a wash cycle (it won't hurt them, I promise!). If you find that the smell doesn't go away and they are just unusable, I am happy to take a return for a full refund.

Exactly what i was needing.
The silicone spaghetti tubes are just what the dr ordered when you gotta put stitches on hold for a while or when you’re flying with a special project in hand luggage and don’t want to risk problems with TSA flying internationally!

I saw an earlier review from someone who noted how bad the cords smelled. Thinking this might be an exaggeration, I went ahead and ordered a set because I really liked the idea. When I got them and opened the tin, I was surprised at how strong (in a really bad way) the cords smelled. I went online to find ways to neutralize the odor, including soaking them in a mix of vinegar and water, washing them with soapy water, and laying them in direct sunlight. Nothing has worked and I just can't use them. I ended up throwing them away, along with the tin (which also absorbed the odor), because I could actually smell them throughout the house.

I tried using the tubing on my latest tee shirt. The tubing fit snugly and securely on the needle. There was a “sticky” feeling to the tubing that prevented easily slipping the stitches onto the tubing. Is there a washing process needed for the tubing? When I sat sticky, I don’t mean sticky like the tubing was soiled but the tubing had a texture that prevented easily slipping- like the tubing was slightly rough. The idea is brilliant and I hope I just have some damaged tubing.

The Knit Extension Cords are meant to be a little grippy on the needle tips so that they don't fall off when you're slipping the yarn from the needles to the extension cords, but it shouldn't be too hard for them to slide once they are past the connection of the needle and the cord.
You can soak in a basin with hot water and dish soap or throw them in with your laundry and let them run through a wash cycle (it won't hurt them, I promise!). If you find that the stickiness doesn't go away and they are just unusable, I am happy to take a return for a full refund.

I almost exclusively knit with fingering & DK weight yarns. In the multipack extension cord the blue was always in use, & I found myself hesitating to reach for the others because it often required me to spend a great deal of time lifting each stitch onto the cord with a tapestry needle. Yesterday I split a project into sleeves/body & did a try on, all using just the new cords. It's so helpful, I may have to get another (or two) for each project bag.
Haven't used them yet...they've been sitting outside because of the strong smell. they might be great...but my suggestion is that you air them out before shipping.

I was eager to try these. However, I found them difficult to pull/push through as the part that attached to the needle kept getting caught on the stitches. I also would have preferred the packaging to be a ziploc bag as the tin just added unnecessary cost.

You'll want to make sure when you put the cord on that it doesn't go up past the crook point of the needle and catch those stitches as you're moving them to the cord.
It can be a bit grippy, but you'll just want to gently slide the stitches off your needle and along the cord.

They work easily.
I found the cord scent to be horrible. As suggested, I put them in a load of laundry and added a generous amount of white vinegar, then put them outside for 24 hours. Now the scent is almost undetectable.
They are wonderful. I plan to use them as life lines in a shawl I am currently making.
I love them and love the tin they’re in.
Thanks for checking in on my latest order....I have not tried to use the extension cords yet.....Actually to be honest, I'm not quite sure! The only LYS on the island closed down a year ago and left me hanging....lol. I have no fellow knitters and am YouTubing all things knitting when I get stuck...which is ofter. I always dreaded the waste yarn cast on. Not anymore, these are great. You know the saying “where have you been all my knitting life”?

What are your shipping methods and times?
All packages are shipped from our hands to yours from our studio here in lovely Pocatello, Idaho, USA.
All packages typically ship within 1-3 business days through USPS first class mail.
Free shipping and Standard First Class packages typically take 5-7 business days to arrive in your hot little hands, but may be subject to seasonal or other delays from our lovely post office people.
This means that your package will arrive in a happy white bubble envelope in your regular mail box. 😊
Advent Boxes
Advent Boxes will begin shipping out the first week of November using UPS Ground shipping unless otherwise requested.
