I’ve been on a quest for the perfect cable needle for a while, and we finally made it!
Made from smooth natural bamboo, these little ‘shortie’ needles are just what the doctor ordered for easy, pain free cable knitting.
- Fits inside our large slider storage tins!
- 8cm (3 1/8″) length is just long enough to hold all your stitches, but short enough not to get in your way (and stab you) while knitting
- 5 “soft grooves” on each needle keep stitches securely in place, but don’t catch and hold your stitches hostage, allowing you to decide when you would like them ready to knit, not a whim of fate
- Natural bamboo material allows just a touch of ‘drag’ to keep needles in place and stitches from accidentally jumping ship

I never thought I’d need another cable needle since cables are quick and stitches are off and running lickety split. But then this. . . making a cabled sweater and mittens, I found the typical cable needle slipping out. Besides, these are really cute, a lot like my hiking stick only a whole lot smaller.

These are by far the best cable needles I’ve ever worked with. The notches for stitches holds everything in place while you’re not working them. Then the needle is brilliantly smooth enough to work directly from the holder back onto your project.
I got a set of these with a hat kit I had ordered, then misplaced them. So I ordered another kit (just in time to find the original set). But as I often have multiple projects ongoing, this now allows me to have multiple cabling projects without worrying about losing my cable needle or dropping my stitches.
I also love that they fit into a large tin, so it makes it easy to keep them together with the rest of my bits and bobs.
