I am a baby knitter, but as a long time quilter I know that the right tools make the difference between the joy of a lifetime hobby and quitting in frustration. So as soon as I realized I was going to love knitting I bought myself row and stitch counters. My current (and only second) project is very straightforward and easy–except I still have a tendency to miss a loop and end up with a yarnover, or get distracted and forget to switch my yarn from back to front. So even though it’s K1,P1 RS and WS (followed by P1,K1 RS and WS–I’m loving the texture!), I have stitch markers set every 10 stitches. That was if I get to stitch 10 and it’s a K when it should be a P, I can stop right there, back up, and figure out where I missed. My first scarf has a bunch of holes and mistakes. Not this second project. And that’s 100% thanks to these markers–and they are so darned pretty and cheerful, hanging from my needles!
