To Knit For The Whole Family

  • Difficulty – Novice Knitter
  • 5 sizes 
    Child S (Child M /L, Women’s S /M,
    Women’s L / Men’s S, Mens M / L)
  • Knit Stripes or a Solid Color
    Requires 100-400 yards of Worsted Weight yarn total
    (Wool is recommended for warm, sledding ready mittens)

Child S (Child M /L, Women’s S /M, Women’s L / Men’s S, Mens M / L)

Finished hand circumference –
5 ½ (6 ½, 7 ¼, 8, 9)”


Size 8 (5mm) needles
Your choice between a 36” circular for
magic loop knitting or double pointed


20 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette in
the round


For Solid Colored Mittens:
100-400 yards of Worsted Weight Yarn

For Striped Mittens:
50-200 yards of Worsted Weight Yarn in each of 2 colors

Recommended Yarn:
Twice Sheared Sheep Everyday Merino

A small amount of waste yarn or a
